DAY TO DAY ITINERARY

Day 1TARIFA – TANGIER – RABAT

Take your morning 45-minute hydrofoil ferry from Tarifa to Tangier, where your host will be right at the ferry landing to greet you.  Start your three-day tour to Morocco from Spain immediately by taking off to Rabat, the capital city of Morocco.  It is an elegant city, with clean, wide streets and modern convenience, yet over three thousand years of history.  The city’s impressive look is mostly of Moorish mixture and French colonial styles shoveled together to create a distinguished clean-cut metropolis unlike any other in Morocco.  The road between Tangier and Rabat is ceremonial to travel the Atlantic promontory and the lowland lush green farms.  You will reach Rabat and go downtown for a festive lunch sampling from the diverse staples at Moroccan eateries and small restaurants.  Your guide will meet you later to take on a whole afternoon historic visit to Rabat.  Your city tour will consist of notable landmarks such as the Mohamed V mausoleum, The Great Mosque of Sunna, the King’s Palace, the Museum of Contemporary Arts, and course, the citadel of Ouadaya walled city opening a chapter of the Arabian Nights this time to walk through exploring the Arab café reminiscent of the thousand and one night’s story to be told and a rendezvous place for a typical mint tea for lost lovers to be out of sight the busybodies.  Do not hesitate to share a glass of Mint tea with a typical Moroccan sweet cooky.  It’s worth it.  You will remember it for the rest of your life; there is no other place with the same setting or atmosphere.  It is an old quote from an old Movie, “Take Me to the Kasbah.”  Well, you are right in it, at the Kasbah of Oudayas.  Enjoy the delta of Bourgreg River, ending its pursuit in the waves of the Atlantic Ocean.  A celestial sunset out of Eden would crown your first day in Morocco.  Return to your hotel for dinner and a comfortable night.

Day 2RABAT – MEKNES – FEZ

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure towards the ancient city of Meknes, an old walled (40 km.) imperial city located in the heart of the Mid Atlas. Panoramic tour: admire the great Bab Al Mansour Gate, Morocco’s most beautiful Gate and the most well-known monument in town. The trip continues to Fez, the most monumental of the Imperial Cities, its University of “Karaouiyyine,” the most prominent Islamic sanctuary in Morocco, ancient theological schools, etc. City sightseeing visiting the most interesting points: the seven gates of the Royal Palace, Jewish Quarters or Mellah, gate of Bab Bou Jeloud, and a walking tour of the “Medina” (Old City), declared World Heritage Site—optional dinner with show.

Day 3Fez- Chefchaouen – Tangier – Tarifa

Great service. We missed our flight into Tangier and had to change our plans last minute. They were very accommodating and adjusted the tour to meet us in Fes. All the guides were lovely and the driver took great care of us. Very grateful and a wonderful experience 🙂

Overall our experience was excellent, however when we arrived at the Tangier Med port our driver was not there to greet us. The ferry was very late arriving and we were told by the ferry operator when we booked the tickets there is a one hour time zone change, so we expected to arrive much earlier. We were quite stressed out trying to locate our driver, and once we did, we were happy to meet Muhammad and get on the road. Once we were with Muhammad, we felt we were in good hands. Volubilis was outstanding, and Majid, the tour guide was excellent. Our hotel in Fes was clean and modern and the complimentary meal was fine. Day 2 travelling through Fes with Zachary was like stepping back in time. Zachary is a top-notch guide, very knowledgeable and fluent in English. Day 3 to Chefchaouen was also spectacular and Abdul was an adequate guide for that location. All through the 3 days Muhammad went out of his way to find the best spots for photos and to see the best countryside. We absolutely loved Morocco and would recommend this tour!
