DAY TO DAY ITINERARY

Day 1Tarifa – Tangier Port

The Tour will start by taking a ferry from Tarifa to Tangier. Upon your arrival, you will find your tour leader at the ferry landing, who will assist you with formalities at the Moroccan border and then take you first to explore the beauty of the medieval white city of Tangier.

You have reached the African continent; a minivan is devoted to your small group during your two-day tour to Morocco.

The guided historic city tour of Tangier consists of a walking tour starting at Merchan Square for an introduction to the Mudejar Architecture, then on to the King’s Palace, an emblem of the sophistication of the Moorish style, The Old Jewish Quarter reminiscent of a unique style of Sapahrdic unique architecture, then, of course, old Medina with its maze of twists and turns of medieval souks and artisans workshops. We will take a break for lunch in a traditional Moroccan restaurant to savor some staples of authentic Moroccan Cuisine, then continue exploring the marvels of Tangier and its surroundings. Your driver will take you on the scenic road to Tangier.

Later, we will reach the well-known Cape Spartel to enjoy magnificent views of the Strait of Gibraltar. In this landmark, Europe embraces Africa, and the Mediterranean pushes out the Atlantic Ocean. Your guide will walk you to the Caves of Hercules, or the Greek Mythology. The columns of Hercules symbolize two great rocks on both sides of the Mediterranean—the Rock of Mount Moussa in Morocco and The Rock of Gibraltar on the opposite side. Our day will resume when we return to Tetouan for dinner and accommodation.

When we’re done, we’ll return to our hotel in Tangier.

Day 2Chefchaouen Day trip

Breakfast will be served to you in your hotel; then we will take a day excursion to Chefchaouen.  Our day trip will orient us through the ragged Rif Mountains to discover one of the most picturesque blue cities of the Mediterranean, nestled on the peaks of Mount Chef and Chaouen.  You will be introduced to your local guide, who will take you on a historic visit to Chefchaouen.

We will take you on a walking tour, first through the outside of the AlcazabaUta Hammam Square, and its mosque with its octagonal Minaret and style of old-fashioned architecture unique to Morocco.  We will go through the narrow blue streets and alleys, exploring the beauty of Chefchaouen old Medina to reach the Ras Al-Ma springs and their confluence.

Your lunch will be reserved for you in a traditional guesthouse, Ryad, to enjoy some delicious typical local dishes. Then we will have free time to roam in the city on our own and do some shopping at our own pace.

In the late afternoon, we will hit the road to the Tangier Port so you can catch your ferry back to Spain. Take the hydrofoil fast ferry back to Algeciras with a great Morocco experience.  Keep it a discovery and come back for more.
