Atlas Mountain Trek

Once you arrive at Agadir Massira Airport, you will meet your Muslim Mountain guide to start your backpackers active Morocco tour with a small group. Welcome and transfer to the hotel where you will check in and spend the rest of the morning relaxing and acclimating yourself to your new surroundings. For your Halal lunch, you will enjoy a seafood feast served at the open-air harbor restaurants, followed by a walking tour of the city. You will visit the museum of Berber arts, the Valley of the Birds, where you will explore a sample of wildlife in Morocco of exotic birds in their natural habitats. you will end your adventure at the panoramic breathtaking view of Agadir from the Kasbah Maghrib prayer will be at the Massira Mosque of Agadir. With its beautiful beaches lined with Islamic architecture and gentle blend of parks, world-class hotels, gardens, and residential neighborhoods, the quiet town of Agadir is an excellent place to begin any Halal adventure vacation.

After breakfast, we will travel to Massa Valley, visiting several typical Islamic Berber villages en route, including Inzeggane, Tassila, and Sidi R’bat hiking and trekking the paths that connect these villages. feast on a Halal Berber tagine for your lunch in a fisherman’s restaurant overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Afterward, you will take short hiking along the Massa River withoyur small group, walking from Sidi R’bat to Tassila through a conservatory in which you can see the various birds species which live in the sanctuary of the Massa region an ideal place for bird watching. You will conclude your hiking day in the legendary beach village of Mirleft with Maghrib Prayer then enjoy a traditional Halal Berber dinner under the open skies with your small group.

We will take off early morning on an overland trip with your small group to Sidi Ifni, traveling through the beautiful village of Mirleft to enjoy the beautiful stretch of beaches on the Atlantic Ocean. Our small group will proceed onward to visit the ancient city of Sidi Ifni, a remnant of the Spanish colonial time noticeably exhibiting a special architecture with elaborate ironwork, sweeping Islamic Moorish styles of architecture patches of garden providing a refreshing sense of renewal. Your local guide will take you on a walking tour of the city. After Maghrib Salat we will retreat to dinner in Algzira, a seasonal hangout place for fishermen. Our dinner will be Halal for the whole group of travelers.

Today our overland expedition will be devoted to hiking the white beaches and surrounding villages of Algzira, exploring of the daily life of Berber fisherman and peasants. In the evening, you will enjoy a campfire feast on the white sands of Algzira, cooked just for our small group by a local fisherman. We will share Sufi stories as the region has a typical history of Islamic Mysticism in Morocco.

After breakfast, we will take off on an adventure trip to Tiznit, where the region’s tribesmen come to trade goods and exchange news. Tiznit defensive military history is evident; the walled city is comprised of small, neatly organized streets and a sizeable garrison, which gives the impression of order and security, not to dismiss that the whole city is built around a holy spring named after a Sufi lady with Baraka and blessings to all who visit her Maqam. Your guided city tour of Tiznit will include the Meshouar (city square), Lalla Tiznit, a natural spring named after the founder of the city, the Kasbah, and the Kissaria, an exclusive market where one can find some of the most unique Berber jewelry in all of Morocco. After a day exploring the marvels of Tiznit with our small group, we will retreat to dinner and other accommodations in this Sub-saharan town

Enjoy a day devoted to hiking the breathtaking slopes of the Atlas Mountains. The diverse rock formations create an ideal environment for the region’s cliff-hanging villages great for trekking. You will enjoy a picnic lunch on the road, and will then proceed onward to Tafrout, which is right on the edge of an oasis, providing a stark contrast to the area otherwise barren landscape made for mountaineering. You will spend your afternoon trekking the village of Tafrout and the nearby rock carving sites, which date back to the Neolithic time. You will conclude your hiking day in the peaks of the Atlas Mountains, with dinner in the village.

Early in the morning, we will travel to Taroudant, known as the little Marrakech. You will stop for lunch in Ait Baha, the largest Berber village in the area overlooking a breathtaking valley. The remainder of your afternoon will be devoted to trekking the region, followed by dinner and additional entertainment at the hotel.

Discover the mysticism and the marvels of Taroudant with your local guide. A walled red-ochre city is often referred to as Little Marrakech. You will take a walking tour to the city historic monuments and visit its Qoranic learning centers, mosques and busy markets. Conclude your day with a mint-tea ceremony in the gardens of the Salam Hotel.

We are at the most beautiful yet highest peaks of the Atlas Mountains. The slopes here are a bit strenuous to hike, we will provide you with an optional mule ride into the mountains, where you can climb the slopes of the Toubkal Mountain, a national park with a breathtaking beauty that exceeds all expectations. We will enjoy a traditionally prepared Halal lunch at a Berber home in Imlil, the afternoon will be devoted to discovering a cliff-hanging village with your group and your mountain guide. Sharing life of these Mountain dwellers, a Muslim Berber family will host us for the night. We will conclude our day with a Halal dinner, followed by Sufi music and Chants.

After Breakfast we will travel to Marrakech stopping at Berber markets, followed by a Halal lunch in the Mountains. Afterward, you will climb to the Oukaimeden Plateau, an adventure that worth the effort hiking these marvelous mountains. There, you will visit some ancient Sufi Maqams. Later In the afternoon, you will arrive in Marrakech, where you will end your daily activities with dinner and accommodations at your hotel.

Meet your local guide in the morning who will take on a quest discovering the magnificence of Marrakech, an overwhelming man-made oasis. You will visit the city’s historic monuments in the morning, followed by a walk in the old markets of the Medina and the bustling Jamaa El Fna square in the afternoon not to miss visiting maqams of some of the seven Saints of Marrakech. Enjoy a sunset riding buggies in the oasis of Marrakech, the glowing city.

Keep on visiting and discovering Marrakech. In the afternoon, Souks are open for you to shop till you drop in one of Morocco’s major craft and trading Medina. Afterward, you will attend a farewell Halal dinner, hosted on your behalf at a traditional Moorish house in the Medina, followed by typical Moorish entertainment.

In the morning, your driver will take you to Marrakech’s Menara Airport, where you will board your Royal Air Maroc flight back to New York, connecting in Casablanca.
