When one thinks of high mountains and vast deserts, Morocco should immediately come to mind, offering some of the most impressive mountains and desert treks to hikers and trekkers worldwide. Additionally, its indigenous populations of Berbers and Moors provide thought-provoking insight into the ancient cultures of these mountains that differ remarkably from our own; nevertheless, they are very accommodating and hospitable. One should know how generous mountain cultures are. The Toubkal Berbers are renowned for their hospitality, joy of life, and generosity. Those who dwell in the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert have long fascinated ethnologists, as they represent cultures unchanged by time. Our Halal treks in Morocco have native Muslim Berber guides who will enhance your travels through these little-known regions. These Islamic journeys cover regions unique to the kingdom, from the lofty crags and screes of the Toubkal to the cedar forests of Michlefen and plunging gorges and karsts of the M’Goun valley. You will explore unusual rock formations, the pristine oases of the Jbel Sehro, and the enchanting groves overflowing with almonds, saffron crocuses, and cliff dwellings. You will also discover the picturesque plateaus, blooming wadis, oases, palm groves, and the voluptuous dunes and tents of the desert’s nomad cultures. Nestled among the high peaks of the Atlas, you will find cultures and vistas untouched by the modernity of the twenty-first century. We welcome you to share an experience only an insider can offer.
